Young Persons Unit
The YPU is a new state-of-the-art purpose built unit, consisting of 6 private rooms with facilities for a parent or guardian to stay overnight with patients and a comprehensive Day Care Unit for chemotherapy outpatients.
All forms of cancers are treated - from the simplest to the most complex of conditions including bone marrow transplants.
Patients may be seen on an inpatient or outpatient basis and are supported through diagnosis and treatment including radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
This is the only private unit of its kind within the UK treating young people with complex cancers and providing a comprehensive bone marrow transplant service. Inpatients will have access to excellent schooling facilities and will be accompanied to class by an interpreter when required.
